An individual apprehended on suspicion of murder following a fatal shooting has been released without charge. Law enforcement officials discovered the victim, identified as being in his 20s, deceased inside a vehicle. This discovery occurred after officers responded to calls reporting a shooting on Rotton Park Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham, just before 23:00 GMT on Friday. A second individual, in his 30s, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he continues to receive medical care, according to West Midlands Police. The individual who was arrested has subsequently been released from the ongoing investigation, police confirmed. Authorities are persisting in their appeal for details concerning the shooting and have implored potential witnesses to contact them “urgently”. Detective Chief Inspector Laura Harrison stated: “This was a tragic incident and we’re working at pace to understand exactly what happened.” Mohammed Faisal, a resident living close to the area where a cordon was established on Rotton Park Road, reported that he was watching television when he perceived gunshots. He recounted hearing two shots, which were then quickly succeeded by a third. He further commented: “Five minutes later, I saw the blue lights turn up and I knew something bad had happened.” Faisal added: “We get a lot of crashes by the junction here, so I wondered if it was that at first but then it became obvious it wasn’t.” He expressed concern, stating: “It’s extremely worrying especially when you have children living here like I do. You don’t want something like this happening near your home.” Post navigation Rare Magna Carta Documents to Be Exhibited for 800th Anniversary 12-Year-Old Girl Arrested Following School Scissor Incident
