Suspect in Barnsley Woman’s Death Released on Bail

A man detained on suspicion of murder, in connection with the death of a woman in Barnsley, has been granted bail. The 56-year-old woman was discovered unresponsive at a residence on Summer Lane, Wombwell, on Tuesday, and was subsequently pronounced dead. A 58-year-old man was apprehended at the same address on Wednesday, but police confirmed he had since been bailed pending further inquiries. The woman has not yet been identified. South Yorkshire Police had previously appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
