Merseyside Police announced that a 27-year-old man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was apprehended in Marbella, Spain, on Thursday. His arrest is linked to an event in Liverpool city centre on 27 December 2023, which authorities previously characterized as a “large disturbance,” resulting in one man being stabbed and two others sustaining injuries. This development follows the extradition of four individuals from France in January, who had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder in connection with the same occurrence. According to police statements, the incident involved a confrontation between two groups of men close to the Safehouse nightclub, located in the city’s Whitechapel area. A 21-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition, while the remaining injured parties sustained cuts and bruises. While Merseyside Police did not disclose the specific grounds for the man’s arrest in Spain, the force confirmed that he was taken into custody “in connection with violent disorder and assault.”
