A charitable organization based in Surrey is organizing a fundraising firewalk to generate funds for its hospice. St Raphael’s Hospice announced that this challenging event is scheduled for November 5th, to be held within the hospice’s premises. A spokesperson indicated that “guests can enjoy an epic bonfire night while braving the coals for a worthy cause in front of spectating friends and family.” Prior to undertaking the challenge, all individuals taking part will participate in a training workshop on the same evening, which will be led by firewalk instructor Cliff Mann. Kate Billingham Wilson, who serves as the director of fundraising and communications at St Raphael’s Hospice, stated: “This is an exciting new event to bring our community together, in the heart of our hospice grounds, and a real challenge to walk across hot coals for our charity! “We invite everyone to join us for a fun evening with hot food and music, while supporting a great cause.” St Raphael’s provides assistance to individuals managing life-limiting conditions and their families. Located in Sutton, the hospice also operates donation shops situated in Banstead, Carshalton, and Cheam. For updates, follow BBC Surrey on Facebook and X.
