Supergrass has been announced as the headliner for a music event at Ludlow Castle this summer. The group plans to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album, “I Should Coco,” by performing the full album live, in addition to other popular songs. They are the second performer confirmed for the venue for the upcoming year, with their appearance set for 25 July 2025, one day prior to Olly Murs. During the past summer, Elbow, James, Anne-Marie, and Madness performed at the castle, which holds permission to host up to eight days of live music annually. Supergrass is scheduled to tour nationally next year to commemorate their album’s anniversary and will be accompanied in Ludlow by Jake Bugg and The Cribs. The series of Live at Ludlow Castle concerts, arranged by Leeds-based FutureSound, commenced in 2023, featuring acts such as Rag’n’Bone Man, Kaiser Chiefs, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Bastille. Each event is projected to attract up to 7,000 attendees, and residents of the Ludlow area have been granted priority for ticket purchases. The concept for these musical events originated with FutureSounds managing director Colin Oliver, a native of Ludlow. He previously stated earlier in the year that bringing the concerts to Ludlow Castle represented the fulfillment of a “lifetime ambition.” Follow BBC Shropshire on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram.
