Natalie Marshall, a manager at a Sue Ryder shop, successfully completed a six-day trek along the Great Wall of China, raising £4,000 for the charity. Marshall, who has been employed at the Peterborough branch for approximately ten years, engaged in up to seven hours of walking daily during this recent endeavor. The 48-year-old, a resident of Dogsthorpe, characterized the experience as among her most demanding challenges. In 2019, she undertook a trek across the Sahara Desert, generating £3,500 for the organization, which offers end-of-life and bereavement support services. Marshall stated: “This was one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced, leaving me in pain, emotional and overwhelmed throughout but I lived to tell the tale and can safely say it was definitely worth every step.” She further commented, “I am very aware of the vital support the charity provides and am proud to say that the money raised will help Sue Ryder ensure that everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need.” She extended her gratitude to the volunteers at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice for organizing events to collect funds for her challenge.
