Stolen Machinery Valued at £50,000 Intercepted by Police at Port

Law enforcement officials retrieved plant machinery, with an estimated value exceeding £50,000, preventing its export from the country. Essex Police had previously reported receiving information regarding the theft of an industrial compressor, valued at approximately £13,000, from Little Hallingbury, located near Bishop’s Stortford, on November 25. Officers located this item two days subsequent to the report, during a search of a lorry at the port of Harwich. Accompanying it were two additional compressors and other smaller pieces of equipment. The police stated that the machinery was confiscated and would undergo forensic examination prior to its repatriation to its rightful owners. Detective Chief Inspector Neal Miller commented: “We regularly conduct checks at our ports for high-value machinery like this.” “Thanks to the work of these officers, this stolen equipment will remain in the UK.”
