A stock exchange headquartered in Guernsey received an award from a prominent national newspaper shortly after establishing a new office in London. The International Stock Exchange (TISE) secured victory in the Banking and Finance category at the Financial Times’ (FT) 2024 Reinvention Champions awards. TISE, an entity that operates multiple specialized marketplaces, notably a recently introduced private markets exchange, inaugurated a new office within the City of London earlier in the current month. Cees Vermaas, the Chief Executive Officer of TISE, stated: “Being nominated by FT readers and journalists was hugely rewarding; but, to be selected by the judges alongside other major companies as a category winner, is a huge endorsement of our strategy.” According to TISE, these newly established awards recognized companies that had undergone a form of “reinvention” and succeeded the FT’s former Tech Champions awards. Mr. Vermaas indicated that the accolade acknowledged the company’s introduction of TISE Private Markets, an exchange designed to serve “the growing private markets.” Company executives reported that TISE was established in 2013 and manages marketplaces facilitating the trading of bonds and equities, in addition to a sustainability marketplace that commenced operations in 2021. They further mentioned that the firm’s new premises, situated on Poultry close to the Bank of England, are intended to bolster its “business development activities across public and private markets,” thereby assisting it to “grow and diversify.”
