Alex Revell, the manager of Stevenage, has expressed his support for Rob Edwards, who is currently under pressure as the manager of Luton Town. Luton Town, known as the Hatters, has not yet issued a statement regarding Edwards’ remarks made after their 5-1 loss to Middlesbrough on Saturday, where he stated his future was “out of my hands”. Currently, Luton occupies the 21st position in the Championship standings, having secured only two victories in their most recent nine matches. Luton and Stevenage, separated by a mere 15 miles, competed in a pre-season friendly match in July, which occurred after Luton’s descent from the Premier League. Speaking on the BBC’s Football News Show, Revell recounted, “I met with Rob in the summer when we played them, and he loved last year and the way they played – with their performances towards the end of the season, they probably deserved to stay in the (Premier) league.” He further added, “This year’s a completely different challenge and it’s just the pressures you have to face.” This Sunday marks Rob Edwards’ two-year anniversary as Luton manager, a tenure during which he led the Hatters to promotion in his inaugural season, experiencing only four defeats. However, the 2024-25 Championship season has presented a starkly different scenario. Revell also stated, “In football, it’s about the now, it’s where the club is, it’s the pressure from above, the risk of relegation in terms of what it costs – there are so many factors that are now on a manager’s head, it’s not just football.” Post navigation Chris Sutton’s Festive Premier League Predictions Against DJ Eats Everything Skinner: West Ham Confident, Ready for Palace Showdown
