St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson expressed his satisfaction with his team’s initial performance, stating: “I thought we were outstanding in the first half, it was probably our best away performance of the season.” He acknowledged a shift in the second half, noting: “We started the second half completely different, credit to St Johnstone as well they started brightly.” Robinson commended his players for their resilience, explaining: “I have to credit the players because after the second goal it’s easy to crumble. Last week we questioned the organisation and the desire to defend the box and be clinical at the other end. We proved that today and got a little bit of luck with the penalty having to be re-taken.” He added that the team’s strong first-half display and their comeback after falling behind 2-1 warranted some fortune: “We deserved a little bit of luck today with our first half performance and our response to going 2-1 down.” Providing an update on player injuries, Robinson stated: “We don’t feel Richard Taylor’s injury is quite as bad as it appeared, it looked like Mark O’Hara tore his thigh as he took the penalty.” Addressing refereeing decisions, the manager commented: “We’ve been on the end of some strange decisions but I think the handball was the clearest decision you could see. I didn’t watch either of the penalties so I didn’t see if Josh Rae was off his line or not.” He concluded by reiterating the team’s strong initial performance and praising their resolve and the contribution of young players: “I thought we were very good first half and should have been more up. But ultimately we showed great character to come back. for the younger kids to come on and shine today, I’m absolutely delighted.” Post navigation Bangladesh Dominates Ireland in Opening ODI Encounter Football Transfer Rumours: Tuesday’s Latest Speculation
