Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence is set to make his return to the touchline, expressing his eagerness to motivate his players. Clemence has completed his three-match ban, which was imposed after he received a red card during the match at Bromley last month. His Barrow side, currently positioned 11th in the league with only one victory in their last eight league games, is scheduled to host AFC Wimbledon at home on Saturday. The upcoming fixture will also see Clemence face his former Tottenham team-mate, Johnnie Jackson. Speaking to BBC Radio Cumbria, Clemence conveyed his frustration, stating, “I found it very frustrating because you feel detached from the game.” He further added, “I like to be feeling the game on the touchline with the players.” Despite possessing the joint second-best defence in the division, having conceded 12 goals this season, the Bluebirds have not been prolific in their offensive efforts, scoring 16 times. Clemence indicated that he does not believe it would take much for the team to rediscover their early season form. “I don’t think our performances have been a lot different,” he said. “We have to keep believing in what we’re doing.” He concluded by saying, “If we can go and get a good result on Saturday, hopefully we get on another run and then we won’t be too far off where we were at the start of the season.”
