On Wednesday, Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors ascended to 30th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, moving past league icon Charles Barkley—a long-standing critic—as the Warriors secured a 118-112 victory against the Boston Celtics. The 34-year-old, a four-time NBA Championship winner, contributed 27 points and achieved a triple-double during the contest. This performance not only elevated him to the 30th position on the all-time scoring rankings but also marked the Warriors’ fifth consecutive win. Curry recorded his 23,747th career point in the third quarter, thereby exceeding the total of 61-year-old Barkley. Barkley, an inductee into the NBA’s Hall of Fame, had previously predicted that the Warriors would be “mediocre” this season. In other league action, the Cleveland Cavaliers established a new franchise record by achieving nine consecutive victories, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 131-122. Donovan Mitchell led the scoring for the Cavaliers, tallying 29 points. The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the LA Lakers 131-114, despite LeBron James achieving a season-best 39 points for his team. Lakers coach JJ Redick commented on James’s effort, stating, “He played hard,” and added, “Almost 40 years old and he played the hardest on our team. It says a lot about him.”
