St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson described the match as “a poor game,” noting that “there wasn’t a lot of quality on show because the weather made it difficult to play any kind of football.” He added that his team “had the better chances but we didn’t take them and you’re always open to losing a goal.” Robinson expressed disappointment, stating, “The disappointing thing is we didn’t have enough people leading the last minute to make sure we didn’t concede a goal.” Robinson further commented on his team’s performance, saying, “We showed a lack of quality and composure, I thought we were the better team on the day but if you don’t take your chances, be as creative as you should be, that’s a few weeks now where we haven’t had that end product.” He emphasized the need for leadership, asserting, “We have to have leaders, we have to have people to stand up in those moments.” Looking ahead, Robinson indicated plans to strengthen the squad, stating, “We’ll try and recruit in January to get a little bit more invention into the team in forward areas for competition.” He concluded by reflecting on the decisive moment of the match: “Ultimately we lose the game on a free-kick, you have to do the basics right and we didn’t do that in the last minute of the game.”
