Marcus Fraser, a defender for St Mirren, has committed his future to the club until 2027, stating that the team has “more to come.” His extended tenure keeps him in Paisley for the foreseeable future. The 30-year-old Fraser joined the Buddies in 2020 and has since accumulated 191 appearances for the team. The right-back commented, “I’ve been here a few years and it’s been great so I’m looking forward to a few more. You can see the direction the club is wanting to go in and the team they’ve got and that was a big part of being involved in. Each year the team has been progressed and so has the club off the park, I want to be a part of that. The manager has been brilliant for me, I try to repay the trust he puts in me by working hard and trying to perform on the pitch and I feel as if there’s more to come from this team.” Manager Stephen Robinson, who has also extended contract offers to striker Toyosi Olusanya and defender Richard Taylor, characterized Fraser as a model professional. Robinson stated, “I think it’s important that people that have been a big part of the journey are recognised. Marcus has been that, he’s been very, very good for me. He’s one of these players you can play anywhere on the pitch and never complains, gets on with it, touch wood, doesn’t miss a day’s training. And I think he thoroughly deserves a contract and epitomises what we’re about – hard work, energy and a brilliant attitude.”
