A week-long enforcement operation in South Yorkshire resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods, cash, and Class A drugs, collectively valued at over £309,000. According to police, the campaign, conducted from November 25 to December 1, primarily aimed to dismantle drug supply networks and protect individuals at risk. A spokesperson for the force reported that 19 individuals were arrested during the initiative, and 112 men and women identified as vulnerable to exploitation received protection. Detective Superintendent Pete Quinn commented: “These are brilliant results we have seen across the week, but the hard work doesn’t stop there. We will continue to work hard to find those involved in county lines and child exploitation, and safeguard victims.” The operation led to the confiscation of over £5,700 in cash and nearly £3,400 worth of Class A drugs. Concurrently, a force spokesperson stated that police, collaborating with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs officers, confiscated a “staggering” one million counterfeit cigarettes, with an estimated value of £300,000, at a site in Hexthorpe. As part of the campaign, officers from South Yorkshire Police collaborated with teams from British Transport Police, the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, and various local authorities. The week-long initiative, organized by the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre, additionally concentrated on informing young individuals about the risks associated with drug involvement and offering training to businesses on recognizing indicators of exploitation. Det Supt Quinn, who serves as the force lead for county lines, remarked: “Exploitation is happening all too often, and children are entitled to have a happy and safe childhood. “We are encouraging people to spot the signs of exploitation and report anything that doesn’t seem right. “You can report to us by calling 101 or through our online portal.” Post navigation Driver Arrested After Fatal Collision Kills 72-Year-Old Pedestrian Cannabis Cultivation Operation Discovered in Suburban Home
