Lincolnshire County Council announced that pavements on a Skegness street are slated for replacement. The authority indicated that the pathways located on Park Avenue have reached the conclusion of their operational lifespan. The project is estimated to cost £315,000, though the council stated that the upkeep of the new paths will prove more cost-effective in the long term. Officials anticipate that work will commence on Tuesday, with completion projected by early March 2025. According to the council, operations will be conducted between the junctions of Scarborough Avenue and Castleton Boulevard, from 07:30 to 17:30 GMT, Monday through Friday. Karen Cassar, from the council’s highways department, commented: “This is a considerable amount of footpath work in Skegness and that means a complete rebuild of pathways to improve the local area.“The current sections of footpaths have reached the end of their life and are in a poor condition.”By getting rid of the old surface now and putting in a modern one, the paths will be much improved, and we will be able to carry out more cost-effective maintenance for many more years to come.”
