A festive gathering in a seaside town has been rescheduled following predictions of heavy rain and winds reaching up to 50mph (80 km/h). The Skegness Christmas market, which was originally set to occur on Saturday at Tower Gardens, will now take place on 30 November. Organizers Skegness Carnival stated on Facebook that they had to make the “difficult decision” to postpone the event because of “high wind speeds this weekend”. The organizers confirmed that a herd of reindeer would still be present at the rescheduled event, along with 60 stalls and various entertainment. The market is scheduled to operate between 10:00 GMT and 16:00. Last year, the market was held on Lumley Avenue, but it was moved to the larger Tower Gardens venue this year due to increased demand.
