A man has been sentenced to six years in a young offenders’ institute after a shotgun and ammunition were discovered in his garden shed. Police executed a warrant at the residence of Connor Sweeney on Staffordshire Street, Cambridge, following suspicions of drug dealing. Officers reported finding the weapon and 15 shells in the garden shed, along with cocaine, cannabis, nitrous oxide canisters, mobile phones, cash, and a wooden truncheon. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty at Cambridge Crown Court to charges of possessing a firearm and supplying cocaine and heroin. Sweeney also admitted to possessing an offensive weapon in a private place, two counts of cocaine possession, and being involved in making an offer to supply cannabis. Detective Constable Samuel Andrews commented: “Tackling serious street-based violence, drugs and ridding Cambridgeshire’s streets of weapons like this is a priority for the force.” He further stated: “Weapons and crime often go hand in hand and the sentence given to Sweeney shows just how seriously the court takes these incidents.” Post navigation Six Individuals Charged Following Bristol Drug Operation Ebenezer Scrooge Gravestone Damaged, Evoking Strong Reactions in Shrewsbury
