An additional six men have been charged with violent disorder following an incident that occurred prior to a League One football match. Law enforcement officials reported that disturbances commenced in Station Road and Friar Street within Reading on 12 December 2023, several hours prior to the match between Reading and Oxford United at the SCL Stadium. These six men received charges via postal requisition between 15 November and 18 November, and their court appearance is scheduled for 7 January at Slough Magistrates’ Court. Thirteen other men had previously been charged with violent disorder. This particular fixture marked the first occasion these two rival teams had competed against each other since 2004, concluding with a 1-1 draw.
