Authorities have apprehended six individuals following a stabbing incident involving a teenager on a bustling seafront promenade during daylight hours. The event, which involved a group of seven boys and young men, took place on Eastbourne Promenade around 16:05 GMT on Tuesday. Sussex Police reported that a 17-year-old boy was attacked, suffering a wound to his right hand consistent with a stabbing. Six individuals, ranging in age from 14 to 20, have been taken into custody, with one suspect being held on suspicion of wounding with intent. All arrested parties have been released on bail under stringent conditions, awaiting further inquiry. The injured adolescent, who was accompanied by two friends during the assault, was transported to Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead for medical attention and has subsequently been discharged. The attack occurred in the lower section of the promenade, specifically between the pier and the bandstand, between 16:05 and 16:20. A police spokesperson stated: “Officers have been carrying out inquiries and increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance, but are keen to speak to witnesses who may have seen what happened in a busy area during daylight.” Members of the public who witnessed the assault or possess relevant information are encouraged to contact the police.
