Emergency fire services are currently addressing a substantial fire that originated at a factory and subsequently extended to adjacent structures within an industrial estate situated near Livingston, West Lothian. The call to Brucefield Industrial Estate, Bellsquarry, was made following 13:30 on Saturday. Law enforcement officials have issued guidance for the public to stay clear of the vicinity. Individuals residing in the immediate area have received instructions to keep their windows and doors shut. A number of nearby thoroughfares, including the Wilderness roundabout, Cochrane Square, and Brucefield Park West, were closed. Smoke plumes are visible from a distance of several miles. A representative for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service verified the presence of nine fire appliances on site. He stated, “Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire, which has taken hold of a large factory and several adjoining buildings.” As of now, no injuries have been reported.
