Seven men were found inside a lorry, positioned on top of pallets of Nutella, after sounds of banging and shouting were heard emanating from within the vehicle. Cambridgeshire Police reported that the individuals were “sat 10-12ft up” on top of boxes of the spread, inside a white Scania lorry that was parked at Brampton Services on Monday evening. The fire service provided assistance in releasing the men. Following their release, they were examined by ambulance crews before being handed over to the immigration service. The lorry driver, a 44-year-old man, was apprehended on suspicion of facilitating illegal entry into the UK. He has been granted bail until next year. Police confirmed that four of the men located in the lorry were Turkish nationals, three were Syrian nationals, and the arrested driver was also a Turkish national.
