A security alert has been issued to owners of vacant properties in Guernsey, prompted by a growing trend among young individuals. Guernsey Police reported observing “an increasing trend” of young people accessing, and occasionally forcing entry into, disused structures, an activity referred to as urban exploring. Law enforcement personnel recommended that property owners ensure doors are locked and secured, and that windows are either closed or boarded up. They further noted that vacant premises frequently pose hazards for young people who enter them, underscoring the necessity of maintaining building security.
