A 16-year-old male has been reported missing in Lewis, prompting concern from law enforcement officials given the prevailing freezing temperatures. Aleksandr Benga’s last known whereabouts were in the vicinity of a water wheel within the grounds of Lews Castle in Stornoway, approximately at 08:45 on Monday. The search for the teenager has involved the Stornoway coastguard helicopter, a local coastguard team, the RNLI’s Stornoway lifeboat, and police officers. An appeal from Police Scotland requests members of the public to examine any outbuildings they own, in the event Aleksandr has taken shelter from the freezing overnight weather conditions.
