An extensive search and rescue operation conducted in a coastal town has been reduced in scope, following the emergency services’ inability to locate any object. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services were dispatched to Salcombe Road in Sidmouth just prior to 10:00 GMT on Saturday. This deployment occurred after members of the public “reported concerns about an object seen in the water”. Police stated: “A multi-agency search and rescue operation took place but at this time nothing has been located.” While searches at the location are being scaled down, investigations are continuing. The police urged anyone possessing relevant information to contact the force by calling 101, referencing log 236 of 23 November.
