Super-featherweight boxer Ryan Garner, who has secured two victories in 2024, including a notable win against Archie Sharp in July, is scheduled to compete against the undefeated Spanish fighter Salvador Jimenez. This bout will take place at the Bournemouth International Centre on March 1. Frank Warren, Garner’s promoter, indicated via X, external, that “a major title will be on the line” for the Southampton-based 26-year-old as he tops the bill for this event, without specifying the particular championship. Jimenez’s professional record stands at 14 wins, no losses, and one draw, and he previously held the European super-featherweight title. Garner, known by his nickname ‘The Piranha’, maintains an undefeated record across 16 professional fights, securing eight victories by knockout. His most recent appearance in the ring saw him defeat Archie Sharp, who had also been undefeated prior to that contest. Speaking to BBC Sport, Garner expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m over the moon to headline my own show.” He further added, “Frank has stuck by me and now after two big wins this year he’s putting on a big show for me, it’s massive for me so close to home too.” Garner also shared his future ambitions, remarking, “I know if I get through this one then there is big things on the horizon for me, we’ve always spoken about my dream of headlining at [Southampton FC’s stadium] St Mary’s.” He concluded by saying, “If I get through this one then there’s talks already for me this summer at St Mary’s, next year could be huge for my career and my life.”
