Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Rooney has expressed his clear understanding of the formidable challenge his team faces this Saturday when they visit Championship leaders Sheffield United. The match will also mark Rooney’s first encounter with goalkeeper Michael Cooper since Cooper’s reported £2 million transfer to United. Plymouth, known as the Pilgrims, will travel to Bramall Lane with a recent record of only one victory in their last ten fixtures, alongside three consecutive losses during which they conceded 12 goals while scoring only two. In stark contrast, United, featuring former Argyle goalkeeper Michael Cooper, boast an impressive nine-game unbeaten streak, including seven wins. “They’re a very efficient team – experience mixed with some really good young players and effective players,” Rooney stated in an interview with BBC Radio Devon. He continued, “We know it’s going to be a tough game; they don’t concede many goals, and normally when they get chances, they take them.” Rooney further emphasized, “We have to be resilient, and we have to be organised.” Addressing his team’s recent performance, he added, “I’ve spoken to the players at length about the communication, as I felt the two goals against Swansea were maybe a lack of communication.” Concluding his remarks, Rooney asserted, “We’re under no illusions that for us to get something out of the game on Saturday, everything has to go right for us.” Post navigation Football Transfer Rumours: Atletico Considers Garnacho, Other Club Dealings Hearts Secure 2-1 Victory Over St Johnstone: Share Your Perspective
