The rock band Texas has been announced as a headlining act for an open-air concert scheduled for next summer. The group, known for hits such as I Don’t Want a Lover, Say What You Want, and Inner Smile, is slated to perform at Lloyd’s Amphitheatre in Bristol on June 27. They will join a lineup that already includes previously revealed headliners Olly Murs, Kaiser Chiefs, and Supergrass. Hundreds of thousands of people are anticipated to gather at the city’s harbourside for the event, which is set to run from June 25 to June 29. Event promoters Crosstown Concerts stated that the artist roster “celebrates a diverse range of music and energy.” Since its formation in 1986, Texas has achieved global sales exceeding 40 million records. Promoter Conal Dodds remarked: “The very first CD I was ever sent by someone in the music industry was by Texas, in 1989. “I have loved the band ever since and I’m thrilled that we have them headlining our Friday night of Bristol Sounds. “I can’t wait to hear Sharleen’s incredible voice across the harbour side next year, this is going to be a very special show.” Bristol Sounds is recognized as one of the city’s premier music events, attracting fans from across the UK.
