Neil Robertson, who previously secured the English Open title this season, achieved a 6-4 victory against world number one Judd Trump. This win advanced him to the semi-finals of the Champion of Champions tournament, held in Bolton. Trump, representing England, commenced the match by winning the initial frame with a run of 69. However, Robertson subsequently won three consecutive frames, recording breaks of 90, 84, and 59, to establish a 3-1 lead. Trump then leveled the score at 3-3 with two half-centuries. The Australian player then claimed the subsequent two frames, which included a lengthy eighth frame spanning nearly an hour, before securing his overall victory with another closely contested frame. Robertson is now set to compete against Wales’ three-time world champion Mark Williams in the semi-finals. This match is scheduled for Saturday at 19:00 GMT. Earlier on Wednesday, Robertson, aged 42, compiled a break of 110 as he narrowly defeated Ali Carter 4-3. Prior to this, Trump had already achieved a decisive 4-0 triumph over Ding Junhui. Upcoming matches on Thursday include Ronnie O’Sullivan playing Xiao Guodong at 13:00, and Mark Selby competing against Shaun Murphy at 14:00.
