Rob Tanner Discusses Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Aim to Instill Winning Mentality

During the latest episode of BBC Radio Leicester’s When You’re Smiling podcast, Rob Tanner shared his insights on Ruud van Nistelrooy’s anticipated focus on transforming the squad’s mindset. Tanner remarked, “Normally you expect managers to be very guarded to how their teams will set up because there’s an advantage for their opposition, but it he was refreshing and honest. I think he will be like that in his pre and post-match conferences.” Tanner indicated that under [Steve] Cooper, there was a perceived “inferiority complex,” leading to a belief that the team would not secure victories. He predicted that Ruud van Nistelrooy would directly address this, conveying to the players, “look if we get a plan right we can cause this team some trouble.” Tanner elaborated, “I think he’s going to try and instil a winning attitude, that it’s not about performance.
