Updated proposals for converting the former Brentford FC stadium in west London into a residential complex now feature 149 homes. The initial plans, submitted in 2021, had specified 75 private residences for the Hounslow location, but following consultations with the architect HTA design and Hounslow Council, the total number of dwellings was increased. The planning application from EcoWorld London also encompasses 41 houses, two apartment buildings, car parking facilities, and a public green space. Griffin Park stadium served as Brentford FC’s home for 119 years before its demolition last year. The application further incorporates new eco-friendly initiatives, including the planting of 100 new trees, the installation of solar panels, low carbon heating systems, and electric vehicle charging points. Out of the 149 homes, 30 will be offered at a discount market sale price for key workers and residents of Hounslow, with no units designated for rent. The developer has engaged with local residents and Brentford fans regarding the design of the public park, which is slated to include a central area that commemorates the site’s history. Senior director, Gregor Mitchell, stated: “EcoWorld London has a longstanding commitment to delivering quality new homes within Hounslow, both at the Griffin Park site and also on various other locations across the borough.” “This location is a key part of the wider site, opening this area of Brentford to the community and reconnecting into the neighbourhood.” Post navigation High Court Application Renewed for Building Demolition Local Authority to Begin Urgent Works on Newport Hotel Amid Owner’s “Toxic Dispute” Claim
