Search and rescue teams successfully located a child who had become entangled in a bramble bush after being reported missing. The 10-year-old was reported missing at approximately 17:40 GMT on Tuesday, in the vicinity of Morwellham Quay in Devon. Around 19:15 GMT, a sound was detected, leading to the discovery of the child caught in brambles within a wooded area near the River Tamar, approximately 1km (0.6 miles) from their last known sighting. Numerous emergency and volunteer organizations were deployed for the operation, including Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, Plymouth Coastguard, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, NPAS Helicopter, and the RNLI from Plymouth Lifeboat Station. Following the discovery, the child received an assessment from a doctor. A spokesperson for the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team characterized the outcome of the search as a “fantastic result” and expressed wishes for the child’s “speedy recovery”.
