An animal charity has highlighted the pressing need for canine adoptions, stating, “Forget ghosts and skeletons—what’s really frightening this Halloween is the number of dogs in need of loving homes.” Dogs Trust Kenilworth was compelled to cease operations for a period of three weeks in September following an outbreak of parvovirus, a potentially fatal canine virus. The rescue facility resumed its services at the conclusion of September; however, this led to delays in securing homes for some of its dogs, amidst an increasing demand for the centre’s assistance. To assist in securing permanent homes for some of its dogs, the Warwickshire rescue organization produced atmospheric Halloween-themed photographs featuring some of its resident animals. Emma-Jane Thomas, manager at Dogs Trust Kenilworth, commented: “Right now, we have 137 dogs in our care, and with demand for our services rising, Dogs Trust is busier than ever.” She continued by stating: “Since our temporary closure, we’ve been working to find forever homes for our dogs as we head into winter. “We want to see as many of our dogs find loving homes before Christmas as possible.” Thomas further remarked: “We’d like anyone looking to welcome a dog into their lives to come and visit us at the centre, meet our dogs, and help them all find a happy place in a new home in time for Christmas.” Follow BBC Coventry & Warwickshire on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram.
