Reopening of Surrey Leisure Pool Postponed by Four Days

The operator of a swimming pool in Surrey, which is currently undergoing refurbishment, has announced a delay in its reopening, attributing the postponement to “additional unforeseen works”. Located at the Guildford Spectrum, the facility has been inaccessible to the public since 25 November and was initially scheduled to resume operations on Monday. Part of the renovation project involved incorporating a new interactive water feature, complete with several slides and water jets. According to Freedom Leisure, the necessity for this supplementary work “became apparent once scaffolding had been erected”, and consequently, the pool’s reopening is now scheduled for Friday. A representative stated: “We made the decision to complete these additional works during the current closure, avoiding the need for a future closure, which would have caused further disruption to our customers and increased costs.” “We understand that any delay can be inconvenient, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our visitors.”
