Families who have experienced baby loss are invited to gather for a special Christmas remembrance service. This event is scheduled to take place at the Baby Bereavement Garden, located at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, on Monday at 18:00 GMT. Bereavement midwife Sophie Wort stated: “For those who have lost a baby or a child, our Christmas service offers families an opportunity to come together and to remember the life of their little one, no matter how brief or short that was.” A representative for Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust indicated that the service is intended for anyone “who has sadly been affected by such a loss and will help those attending remember and reflect.” The design of the garden received funding from the Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity and was inaugurated two years prior, coinciding with a Baby Loss Awareness Week. This tranquil space provides a setting where families impacted by loss can bring their baby, separate from the hospital ward, to create enduring memories. For individuals impacted by the themes discussed in this report, specialized assistance and resources are accessible through the BBC Action Line.
