Rangers defender Leon Balogun has drawn a comparison between his teammate, Hamza Igamane, and the former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba. Igamane, a 22-year-old Moroccan striker, has been a significant presence for the Ibrox club since his transfer from FAR Rabat during the summer. Igamane’s scoring record includes four goals in four Europa League appearances and a total of six goals across all competitions. His most recent goal was scored in Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham. Balogun’s commendation of Igamane’s impact came ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final match against Celtic. Balogun expressed his satisfaction with Igamane’s ability to perform under pressure, stating, “I think it’s really good to see that he’s able to put things that we see in training on to the big stage when it matters.” He further added, “And I think he’s had an excellent run.” Highlighting Igamane’s physical attributes and ball control, Balogun remarked, “He’s a strong player and the way he controls the ball with his chest, I don’t think I’ve seen it a lot.” He then made the notable comparison, cautioning, “I don’t want to praise him too much, but it reminds me a little bit of Didier Drogba, but that’s a big one, so don’t tell him I said that.” Balogun continued, “It’s very refreshing. It’s very nice to see it. And yeah, he’s delightful.” He also mentioned Igamane’s playful side: “He’s got a bit of cheek to him as well. He loves a nutmeg” Concluding his remarks, Balogun affirmed, “But, yeah, he’s been really, really good. I think the his performances speak for itself.” Post navigation Mateta’s Pivotal Role in Crystal Palace’s Attack Blackburn Rovers Coach Eustace Commends Tyrhys Dolan Following Leeds Victory
