Train operations have recommenced after multiple morning journeys between Reading and Basingstoke were cancelled due to repair work. Great Western Railway (GWR) attributed the disruption to “more trains than usual” undergoing simultaneous repairs, which led to a scarcity of carriages on the line. The rail provider extended an apology for any inconvenience experienced by commuters. A regular service has now been restored on the route linking Berkshire and Hampshire.
