The QEII Bridge at the Dartford Crossing has recommenced operations, having previously been closed because of strong winds from Storm Darragh. During the closure, southbound traffic on the A282 was redirected via the east bore tunnel, while northbound journeys were subject to a height restriction of 4’8m through the west bore tunnel diversion. National Highways announced the reopening of the southbound bridge shortly before 14:30 GMT. The agency cautioned that motorists should still anticipate 30-minute delays on the southbound road and hour-long delays on the northbound carriageway. Concurrently, the Dover Traffic Access Protocol (TAP) scheme was activated on the A20 on Saturday due to significant traffic, according to Kent Highways. Ferry operator DFDS cancelled four services from Dover to Calais and three on the return route, attributing these cancellations to “adverse weather.” The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind across the South East, effective until Sunday, with areas in the South West and Wales receiving a red warning.
