Prop Vilikesa ‘Billy’ Sela has agreed to a new contract with Bath. He made his Premiership debut for the club this season. The 19-year-old is currently expected to be out of action for up to two months due to a shoulder injury. This injury occurred last Saturday during the Premiership Rugby Cup victory against Bristol Bears. Sela joined Bath’s academy in 2023 and made his initial appearances in the Premiership this season, entering as a replacement in the wins against Leicester and Sale. The tighthead prop, who commenced his career playing in the back row, has also represented England at under-20 level. He was part of the squad that won the World Championship in South Africa in the summer. Sela had been selected for the England A side’s match against Australia A this weekend but was forced to withdraw due to his injury. His contract extension follows that of centre Louie Hennessey, who also renewed his deal with Bath. The duration of Sela’s new contract remains undisclosed.
