Prince Harry participated in a lighthearted comedic video depicting a tattoo session, in support of the upcoming Invictus Games. The prince portrays an apprehensive client contemplating his initial tattoo, to be administered by American singer Jelly Roll. “Alright, screw it, let’s go,” the prince states in a video released on social media. In return, the singer committed to performing at the Invictus Games, an event for injured service personnel, scheduled for February in Vancouver. The video’s publication could clarify the prince’s earlier sighting at a tattoo establishment in New York this year. Jelly Roll, who is himself extensively tattooed, expressed his intention to ink the prince’s neck, with the scene recorded at the East Side Ink tattoo studio. “I was thinking of my lower back or my…” the prince remarked, gesturing towards his posterior as the on-screen captions transformed into emojis. Jelly Roll, a former inmate, initially pledged a modest tattoo; however, it materialized as a substantial advertisement for the games on Prince Harry’s neck. “Commitment prince,” the singer encouraged when Harry recoiled, appearing to experience the sensation of being tattooed. This humorous video and simulated tattoo, notably divergent from content typically released by royal residences, aim to generate publicity for the upcoming winter Invictus Games. Jelly Roll, an award-winning country music artist, is scheduled to perform at the closing ceremony in Vancouver on 16 February.
