Elliott Powell, who earlier in the week resigned as manager of the Jersey FA representative team to focus on his position at Bulls, stated that his Jersey Bulls team could perform better, notwithstanding their 2-0 victory against Chipstead in the Combined Counties Premier South. Karl Hinds scored the opening goal with a long-range lob four minutes before half-time, putting the islanders ahead. Luke Watson then secured the win by heading in a corner from Rai Dos Santos midway through the second half. This triumph propelled the Bulls, who remain undefeated in 13 league matches under their new manager Powell, to third place in the league standings. The islanders have not conceded a goal in their last seven matches and are currently seven points behind leaders Redhill, with two games in hand. Speaking to BBC Radio Jersey, Powell remarked, “I thought first half in particular we were quite poor – a moment on quality from Hindsy with a chip from 25 or 30 yards out put us ahead of the game.” He further explained, “But really we hadn’t asked enough questions of a Chipstead side that were really well organised and sat in and made it difficult to break down.” Powell added, “We were poor first half, I thought, second half we controlled it a little bit more, we got the ball in higher areas and the goal felt like it was coming.” He concluded by saying, “I’m happy to get over the line, but certainly room for improvement ahead of some tough tests coming up in the next few games.” Post navigation Managers’ Post-Match Comments After Rangers-Tottenham 1-1 Draw Emiliano Martinez Honored as Best Fifa Men’s Goalkeeper
