Law enforcement officials have issued a caution regarding individuals impersonating carol singers to commit theft from residential properties. Warwickshire Police released this advisory following reports of two separate incidents occurring within the county over the past few days. In one instance, a resident reported the theft of AirPods and their charger at approximately 16:20 GMT on Thursday. This occurred after a woman, accompanied by two children and carrying a red money tin, gained entry to a residence on Crane Close, Stratford-upon-Avon. Additionally, currency was taken from a purse inside a home on St Michaels Road, Warwick. This incident took place around 18:00 GMT on Friday, following a woman and two girls knocking on the door. Investigators suspect the funds were stolen while the occupant retrieved snacks for the two children, who had requested food. Authorities described the woman implicated in these occurrences as being of a “mixed ethnic background” and approximately 5ft 2in in height. The girls are estimated to be between eight and 10 years of age. Detective Sergeant Thomas Quinlan advised members of the public to decline unsolicited visitors and to report any unusual activity. “Unfortunately even at Christmas time, it appears these individuals are preying on the goodwill of residents,” he said.
