Kent Police reported the confiscation of a cannabis shipment, valued at over £1 million and exceeding one tonne in weight, following the interception of a van in Gravesend. Law enforcement personnel conducted a search of the Ford Transit vehicle on 13 November, prompted by a report of suspicious behavior, where they discovered approximately 500kg of packaged cannabis. The police force stated that two individuals were apprehended at the site, and subsequent investigations “led to detectives searching a property in Herne Hill, south east London on the same day”. “More cannabis, estimated at weighing around 800 kilograms, was seized at the property and the total street value of all of the seized drugs is estimated to exceed more than £1million,” the force further indicated. Authorities confirmed that two men have been formally accused of possessing cannabis with the intent to distribute. The force also stated that the individuals were held in custody and are scheduled to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on a date yet to be determined.
