Law enforcement officials conducting an inquiry into a man’s death in Gloucester have stated their intention to locate a potential witness. Gloucestershire Police reported that the 38-year-old individual was discovered on Painswick Road, Matson, around 00:15 GMT on Sunday by officers who were en route to a separate incident. Despite attempts by paramedics and officers to save him, the man, a resident of Matson, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities believe he was struck by a vehicle. Officers confirmed that the car involved in the incident remained at the scene and that no arrests have been made. They further indicated a desire to locate the driver of a white vehicle who may have observed the event. Police added that this vehicle was sighted on Matson Avenue shortly after midnight and could potentially have witnessed the incident. The force stated that road closures were still in effect at the junction with Heron Way and Norbury Avenue to facilitate ongoing investigative work. Authorities also confirmed that the next of kin of the deceased man have been informed.
