Law enforcement officials have confirmed the release of a 17-year-old, initially apprehended on suspicion of murder, following the determination that a man’s death was accidental. The individual, aged 42, passed away at a hospital on October 21. This occurred the day after he was discovered with head injuries within a residence situated on Hook Road in Goole. An autopsy concluded that the fatal head injury resulted from a fall down the stairs within his own home. Consequently, the 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, both of whom had been arrested in relation to the event, have been discharged without any subsequent proceedings. Detective Chief Inspector Jim Clough, from Humberside Police, stated: “We can now confirm there was no third-party involvement in the man’s death and his injuries have been found to be consistent with falling down the stairs in his home.” He further mentioned that trained officers are providing support to the family.
