Police have made public CCTV footage of an individual they are seeking to interview following a series of break-ins. Avon and Somerset Police reported that seven commercial establishments located on High Street, Regent Street, Oxford Street, Victoria Street, Adam Street, and Cross Street in Burnham-on-Sea were targeted between 02:00 and 04:00 on Sunday. Cash was stolen during two of these incidents. The man authorities wish to speak with is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, dressed entirely in black, and carrying a black rucksack. Officers are treating these occurrences as linked and believe a single perpetrator committed the offences. PC Harry Long stated that these events would understandably be “alarming” for business owners, and officers have intensified their patrols in the vicinity to provide reassurance. PC Long added, “The man pictured is someone we are interested in speaking to as we believe he will help us further our enquiries.” He further commented, “We appreciate the images are not the clearest but we hope someone recognises the clothing or mannerisms.” Anyone with information concerning these incidents is urged to contact the police.
