Merseyside Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may possess information regarding an incident they characterized as a “serious assault” that occurred outside a pub. The force reported that a man in his 20s was reportedly attacked outside The Black Horse pub, located on County Road in Liverpool, at approximately 23:20 GMT on Friday. Following the incident, the victim returned home but was subsequently transported to a hospital by paramedics, where he remains in a critical condition, the police added. Detectives are now urging the individual depicted in the CCTV footage to come forward. Detective Inspector Dave Jones stated: “Our inquiries are ongoing into this incident and we are now releasing an image of a man who we think could have information about what happened.” He further appealed: “If you recognise yourself in this image, or you know who this is, please let us know as soon as possible.” The police force also requested that anyone who was in the vicinity on Friday night and witnessed the events contact them “as a matter of urgency”.
