Law enforcement authorities have announced a £10,000 reward for details concerning a father and son who vanished in Spain over five years ago. Daniel Poole and his son, Liam, journeyed to Malaga in 2019. Sussex Police reclassified their disappearance as a murder investigation in 2022. The police force is currently providing the reward for any intelligence that results in the apprehension and prosecution of individuals accountable for Danny and Liam’s vanishing. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Dunn stated that despite the fact the two individuals, who hail from Burgess Hill, vanished in Spain, law enforcement suspects there are people within the UK possessing “vital information” regarding their disappearance. He further commented: “We understand there may be some who have felt unable to come forward before now, but it’s not too late to do the right thing. “Even the smallest detail could be significant in helping us provide their families with the answers they so desperately need and deserve.” Lauryn, who is Danny’s daughter and Liam’s sister, expressed: “Not a day goes by that I don’t wonder what life would be like with my dad and brother in it.” She mentioned that she constantly pondered “what truly happened and what their last moments might have been like,” noting that these reflections frequently caused her sleepless nights. She concluded: “I beg and pray that someone could give me and our family the closure we need to move on from the sleepless nights and that I can give an explanation to my dad and brother’s growing family one day.” Upon their arrival in Spain on 31 March 2019, the two rented a grey Peugeot 308, bearing the registration 0254 KTM. The vehicle was never given back to the rental company and was subsequently discovered deserted by Spanish police. Their belongings, including their passports, remained at their hotel, indicating that their vanishing was not premeditated, according to Sussex Police. The police force announced that the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team will now spearhead the inquiry, assuming primary responsibility from the Spanish police.
