The public has been cautioned by police not to approach a pitbull-type dog that has gone missing. Lincolnshire Police reported being informed of the dog’s disappearance in the area surrounding Shepeau Stow, near Spalding, on Monday morning, with officers “actively searching” for it. The force commented: “We are unsure of the dog’s temperament and advise the public not to approach it if it’s seen but to call us.” Pitbull terriers are among the breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. Other breeds prohibited by law include the XL bully, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brazileiro.
