Law enforcement officials have issued an electronic facial composite (e-fit) of an individual in connection with a reported rape, which occurred after a man forced entry into a woman’s residence. This event took place at a property situated on a street close to central Hastings, just prior to 19:00 GMT on Saturday. The man, who was a stranger to the victim, had approached the house. The individual sought is described as white, aged between 20 and 30 years, and was dressed in a black hooded jumper, tracksuit bottoms, and a snood. Detective Inspector Amanda Zinyama stated: “The nature of the offence is extremely unusual and we continue to work to identify this man.” While authorities indicate they possess no intelligence connecting this individual to any other occurrence, officers have advised local residents to exercise vigilance regarding suspicious individuals in the vicinity and when responding to unannounced visitors at their doors. Ms. Zinyama commented: “We appreciate that this will cause concern among the local community and, in addition to a dedicated investigation team, we have increased patrols in the area to provide visibility and reassurance.” Furthermore, officers have been endeavoring to obtain doorbell and other closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the locality, concurrently conducting door-to-door inquiries. Individuals possessing any relevant information are requested to reach out to Sussex Police.
